In its latest publication, IESP picks up the idea of “Violated Earth – Violent Earth”.
The anthology takes as its starting point John Lovelock's concept of the self-regulating Earth (The Revenge of Gaia). A number of authors from various disciplines contribute their methodological approaches, ideas, and research results to motivate individual and collective action against adverse developments.
This includes unique trans- and interdisciplinary considerations from philosophers, physicists, AI specialists, Earth and water scientists, as well as life scientists and physicians.
The assembled group of international fore-thinkers aims to inspire and encourage optimistic and creative responses to the most pressing challenge of the 21st century: Keeping the Earth System in a balanced ecological state that will support human civilization for the generations to come.
In cooperation with the TUM Senior Excellence Faculty and Institute for Advanced Study, this SpringerNATURE publication is edited by TUM professors Peter A. Wilderer, Martin Grambow, Michael Molls, and Konrad Oexle, deriving from a 2019 international workshop entitled “Violated Earth – Violent Earth”.
