Molecular Imaging
The Focus Group Molecular Imaging is dedicated to search for new avenues in the field of the in vivo quantitative visualization of molecules and molecular events that occur at cellular level. The potential towards clinical translation is huge as the same modalities used in Medical Imaging are used in Molecular Imaging investigations.
The Focus Group consists of Prof. Silvio Aime (Hans Fischer Senior Fellow, Molecular Biotechnology Center, University of Torino), Prof. Markus Schwaiger (Host, Clinic for Nuclear Medicine, TUM), Prof. Axel Haase (Carl von Linde Senior Fellow, Institute of Medical Engineering, TUM) and other researchers at TUM and University of Torino who combine their efforts to set up a most advanced platform in the field of innovative imaging procedures for medical diagnosis. In particular the Focus Group is tackling projects related to the advent of the hybrid PET/MR imaging modality in order to exploit at best the complementarities between the combined modalities.
