Efficient and Reliable Energy Conversion Technique for 20MW-level Offshore Wind Energy

Dr. Zhang is currently a full professor and institute director at Shandong Uni. Jinan, China. He is interested in design and control of renewable energy conversion systems, including power electronics and motor drives, micro-grids with energy storage, and predictive maintenance of energy conversion systems. Prof. Zhang is an IET Fellow, IET Chartered Engineer, IEEE Senior Member, and selected as the "Lifetime Scientific Impact List" of the world top 2% of scientists released by Stanford Uni. He was awarded the “VDE-AWARD-2017” for his contribution in advanced control for wind energy conversion systems and electrical drives. He was selected for the “1000-Talent” national program of China, and granted the Science Fund for Distinguished Scholars of Shandong Province, China. In addition, he won the Gold Award of Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions, the First Prize of Science and Technology Award of China Electrotechnical Society, etc. He has been awarded the Best Paper and Presentation prizes at international conferences on a total of 25 occasions.
