General information
The Coherent Neutrino Scattering (CeNNS@Chooz) meeting will be held in Munich, Germany, from May 22 (morning) to May 23 (afternoon) 2017, at the Institute for Advanced Study of the Technical University of Munich.
Purpose of the workshop
Neutrinos should be able to coherently elastically scatter against the nucleus as a whole. This process, labeled CeNNS has never been observed due to the difficulty in detecting the < 1 keV nuclear recoil that marks its signature. A cryogenic bolometric array of several kilograms of target material should be enough to extract a CeNNS signal within one year of running, provided the threshold is kept below 100 eV. This workshop is devoted to discuss the proposal for the detection of CeNNS next to the Chooz reactor complex in France, using cryogenic detectors.
