Date: Sunday, February 21 to Friday, February 26, 2016
Location: TUM Institute for Advanced Study and Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics
The Young Atom Opticians (YAO) conference is a yearly international meeting, organized by and for PhD candidates in the field of atomic, molecular and optical physics.
The YAO conference gained reputation as an excellent platform for young researchers to present their work and to establish networks in the European atomic physics community. Aimed at both experimental and theoretical physicists, the meeting covers various facets of modern quantum optics and allows for exchange in a relaxed atmosphere. Next year's edition is organized by Prof. Rempe's Quantum Dynamics Division of the MPI of Quantum Optics.
Apart from talks and poster presentations by the young atom opticians, the scientific programme features five invited talks:
- Immanuel Bloch, Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics, Garching, Germany
- Francesca Ferlaino, University of Innsbruck, Austria
- Michael Fleischhauer, University of Kaiserslautern, Germany
- Ed Hinds, Imperial College, London, United Kingdom
- Gerhard Rempe, Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics, Garching, Germany
Further information is available on the webpage www.yao-conference.org. The participants of the conference are usually young PhD candidates, but the conference is also open to master students or other young scientists in the field of AMO physics. The number of participants will be limited to about 90.
