Short CV
Ghang Lee is a Professor of Architecture and Architectural Engineering at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea, where he directs the Building Informatics Group. His research spans Building Information Modeling (BIM), information interoperability, AI applications in construction, and automated code compliance checking. Dr. Lee has significantly contributed to the development of cutting-edge systems, including the Tower Crane Navigation System (TCVS), a smart IoT-based exit sign system, and NADIA, a speech-to-BIM tool for architectural detailing.
He has authored over 200 papers in leading academic journals and conferences and is a co-author of the widely recognized BIM Handbook. His work has earned him international recognition, with honors such as the Silver Medal from the President of Korea and multiple Outstanding Research Achievement Awards from Yonsei University, Georgia Tech, and the Korea Association of Industry, Academy, and Research Institute (KAIARI). He has also been recognized by Stanford University and Elsevier as one of the top 2% of scholars in building and construction.
Dr. Lee is actively involved in shaping global BIM standards and continues to pioneer innovations in AI-driven construction technologies. In collaboration with international academic and industry partners, he has advanced smart construction, information standardization, and digital transformation in the built environment.
