Norman Blank earned his M.S. degree and PhD. in Chemistry, with a focus in Benzo- & Naphthalino Phanes, from the University of Heidelberg and the Max-Planck Institute for Coal Research in Mülheim, respectively. During his time at the Max-Planck Institute for Coal Research, Norman also took part in a Research Fellowship. He joined Teroson-WR Grace in 1983 as Head of Development for Automotive & Industrial Adhesives. During his time with Teroson-WR Grace he completed a sabatical as Assistent to Group Management for WR Grace. In 1998 Norman left Teroson-WR Grace to join Henkel-Teroson, where he was appointed Director of Development for Automotive & Industrial Adhesives. He later joined Sika AG as Senior VP of R&D North America in 1991. A position he held till 2001, when he was appointed Director of Corporate Research at Sika AG in Switzerland. Norman stayed with Sika until retirement this past July, 2014 as Chief of Research Officer, a position he has been appointed to in 2005.
