Autonomous Vehicles Systems (AVS)

The Focus Group around Rudolf Mößbauer Tenure Track Professor Johannes Betz  is interested in the algorithmic foundations of robot motion planning, control, and learning. The research of the AVS lab is aiming to create the next generation of intelligent autonomous vehicles. These vehicles will be able to interact with each other, including humans, while acting safely, efficiently, and with high performance. The Group’s vision is to enable safe and trustworthy  autonomy for a broad range of high-integrity robotic applications. They are achieving this by designing adaptive dynamic path planning and control algorithms, developing decision-makers that can work under uncertainty in multi-agent environments, and validating the algorithms on real-world robotic systems.
