Transportation and mobility resilience
The Transportation and mobility resilience focus group consists of Hans Fischer Fellow Prof. Raphael Stern (University of Minnesota) and Prof. Dr. Constantinos Antoniou (TUM). The group focuses on developing computational methods to enhance transportation system resilience. This includes both conventional automotive traffic systems, as well as more holistically considers other mobility systems including rail and freight/logistics networks, and how these systems (1) respond to disruptive events, and (2) can be controlled to quickly return to normal (or near normal) operating conditions. This includes both transportation systems control methods, as well as modeling and optimization methods to quickly assess system behavior and identify optimal control strategies.
