Scientists Meet Scientists – Wednesday Coffee Talk by Prof. Thomas A. Wunderlich (Geodesy) on reliable navigation underground

Events, WCT |

Prof. Ernst Rank and the TUM-IAS team invite the scientists of TUM and their guests for coffee each Wednesday! Just come over to the TUM-IAS after lunch between 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. and have a coffee with us, meet other scientists and listen from time to time to a short talk (10-15 mins) on a recent major TUM publication or issue – aimed specifically at a non-expert audience.

On October 19, 2016, Prof. Thomas A. Wunderlich (Geodesy) will talk about a new measurement method enabling precise orientation on shaft floors which was developed in the context of the work in the Gotthard Base Tunnel in Switzerland (TUM press release).

T. Wunderlich, T. Neuhierl, K. Schnädelbach, H. Ingensand, and A. Ryf, “Inertial Navigation in Tunneling,“ in Proceedings International Conference 70 Years of FCE STU, Bratislava, Slovakia, 2008.

We look forward to seeing you there!
