The prize is awarded to internationally leading researchers of all disciplines from abroad in recognition of their academic record to date.

Professor Meisong Tong is well known internationally for his outstanding research in computational electromagnetics and related topics. He has made significant contributions to developing the state-of-the-art Nyström method and meshless methods for solving electromagnetic problems. Professor Tong pioneered to derive closed-form formulas for calculating hypersingular integrals of electromagnetic integral equations, enhancing those numerical methods to a new level. During his stay in Germany, he intends to develop robust singularity treatment techniques for more challenging tetrahedral elements and apply them to inverse source methods.

Professor Tong is hosted by Professor Thomas F. Eibert at the Technical University of Munich, Chair of High-Frequency Engineering.
