Events |

Date: Friday 30, September 2016, 10:00

Speakers’ series on “New Frontiers in Battery Science and Technology” 2016. Organized by TUM-IAS and Rudolf Diesel Industry Fellow Dr. Peter Lamp (BMW Group).

Title: Evaluation of Lithium Thiophosphates for the Application as Solid Electrolytes in All-Solid-State Batteries.

Speaker: Dr. Stefan J. Sedlmaier, KIT/BASF Joint Laboratory BELLA.

Born in Freising in 1981, Dr. Stefan Sedlmaier studied chemistry and biochemistry at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) and received the Bachelor degree in 2004 and the Master degree in 2006. In 2007, he joined the group Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Schnick to synthesize and characterize new, condensed oxonitridophosphates and phosphorus oxonitrides. After having received the doctoral degree in solid-state chemistry in 2011, he became a DFG-granted postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Oxford to work on iron-based superconductors in the group Prof. Dr. Simon J. Clarke in 2012. Since the return from the UK in January 2015, Dr. Stefan Sedlmaier is a researcher in the KIT/BASF joint laboratory BELLA (Battery and Electrochemistry Laboratory) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology working on all-solid state batteries.
