On June 7, 2023, Dr. Sani Nassif (Radyalis, LLC / Rudolf Diesel Industry Fellow) will talk about “From Computer Engineering to Medicine.”
Abstract: The fields of computer engineering and medicine seem far apart, but as computing technology embeds itself ever deeper into all aspects of our lives, it also impacts medicine. Beyond simple patient record keeping and drug trials, computing is poised to make far broader impact especially with the wide availability of consumer-level health monitoring devices. In addition, some medical treatments -such as Cancer Radiation Therapy- rely extensively on computing to optimize and verify treatments. This talk will explore the intersection between these two fields as their interaction is poised to revolutionize medical care.
