Former Carl von Linde Senior Fellow Professor Andrzej J. Buras awarded Max Planck Medal of the German Physical Society

Professor Andrzej J. Buras was announced to receive the highest award of the German Physical Society (Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft), the world's largest organization of physicists, for his outstanding contributions to the applied quantum field theory of fundamental interactions.

Andrzej Jerzy Buras

Congratulations to TUM Emeritus of Excellence Andrzej J. Buras, who held the chair of theoretical elementary particle physics at TUM from 1988 to 2012. He is recognized as one of the world’s leading theoretical physicist. His research on the applied quantum field theory of fundamental interactions, especially on the phenomenology of the Standard Model of particle physics, is internationally highly renowned.

Andrzej J. Buras was a Carl von Linde Senior Fellow at the TUM-IAS from 2008 on, where he continues to conduct research as the 2011 recipient of an ERC grant (2011-2016).
