In the 2016 call for Fellowships, we have introduced a new procedure for the Hans Fischer (Senior) applications: each host would have to suggest a Fellow tandem, of which one would have to be a female researcher. This procedure allowed us to significantly increase the pool of female candidates, which then was also reflected in the percentage of female Fellows appointed, this highest ever in the history of the institute! It goes without saying that all the applications were evaluated following our very competitive evaluation process, where exclusively the scientific quality of the candidates plays a role.
