Jia Chen, Rudolf Mößbauer Tenure Track Professor and TUM-IAS Fellow, will be giving a university public lecture on air pollution and climate change, on Tuesday, 2nd February, at 4.30 pm.
As more than 70% of the fossil fuel-based carbon dioxide (CO2) is emitted in urban areas, urban emissions play a crucial role in achieving the emissions reduction goals. In addition to greenhouse gases (GHGs), air pollutants, such as nitrogen oxides (NOx) and particulate matter (PM), negatively impact the urban air quality and are harmful to human health. In this talk I will present new observational methods and modelling approaches to tackle two of today’s most urgent challenges: climate change and air pollution.
The lecture is part of the tenure track evaluation in TUM’s Faculty Recruitment and Career System.
