Honorary Doctorate for IAS Director Michael Molls

Dimitrie Cantemir Christian University, Bucharest, has awarded an honorary doctorate to TUM-IAS Director Prof. Dr. Michael Molls. He was honored for his many years of scientific, medical and technological breakthroughs in radiation oncology, for his commitment to training and promoting young scientists, and for his involvement in international scientific relations. Dimitrie Cantemir Christian University is the leading private university in Romania, offering its more than 8,000 domestic and foreign students 24 bachelor's and 22 master's degree programs in law, business and economics, tourism and trade management, education, and foreign languages and literature.

On the occasion of the celebration, Dimitrie Cantemir Christian University in cooperation with the Technical University of Munich and the University of Freiburg held a conference on Sustainability and Society.

This joint conference seeks to encourage the academic debate on sustainability, technology, and development opportunities, reuniting eminent scholars from major Universities and Research Institutes, such as Harvard University or the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. More than a dozen academics will present their prominent research on sustainability and technologies in modern societies, also addressing the intertwinement of technology with social sciences.
